Operating Instructions

2.Reduce the risk of injury to patient or caregiver during physical therapy, ambulation, transfer.
Gait Belt Safety Tips:
1.Always transfer to patient's strongest side.
2.Use good body mechanics and a rocking and pulling motion rather than lifting when using a belt.
3.Ensure belt is securely fastened and cannot be easily undone by the resident during transfer.
4.Ensure a layer of clothing is between residents skin and the belt to avoid abrasion.
5.Keep resident as close as possible to caregiver during transfer.
